*News and Updates*

Date: March 3o, 2010 I have made a Blog, as it seems impossible for me to update html :) Go! See how shiny! xoxo Something Shiny! My new blog.

Date: September 15, 2009 Time: 9:06 AM After everyone picks themselves up off the floor, how about we welcome in 2009, (or at least the last half of 2009)

Even though it has not been announced here, things have still been happening...of most recent note, I just returned from a roadtrip to Chicago with my favorite italian, Corbett Vanoni. We went to participate in the Chicagoland Entertainment Collectors Expo, as always, they treated us like royalty. Check out next fall, it is their 10th Anniversary.

Coming up in a few short weeks, I hope you'll all come see me at FallCon. It promises to be full of wonder and mystery...oooooohhhhh.. actually, it promises loads of laughs, and some of the best artwork I know.

I am working on another cardset for TOPPS, this time it is the Star Wars Clone War set. So far, I'm having a great time doing it. As soon as I can post anything, I will.

Last but not least, I finished a new painting. Did you know that I paint? Turns out... it's one of my favorite things. I really wish I'd known sooner, I could have gotten alot done. Hehe...anyhoo, here she is.

TD ALIGN="Center"> That's all my brain can grasp for the moment. Thank you for visiting. XOXOX

*Date:03.12.08 *Time:10:53 PM Welcome to 2008!

Due to the increasing laziness of the webmaster, in the future, to be known as "couch potato", no one has updated this site for a very long time... The person responsible has been fired. :)

Just a few pieces of information regarding upcoming events... Please come see me at MicroCon 2008! It will be at the State Fairgrounds on April 27th. Jessica Hickman and I will be there sharing a table, stick around and witness her making fun of me! She's really good at it. (and also and amazingly talented artist) ^__^

I've also been working on sketchcards again. This time TOPPS Lord of the Rings Masterpieces II and Upper Deck's Marvel Masterpieces 1 & 2. I will post some samples soon.

That's all for now, a little spent now...

Happy New Year. Oops, late again. ^^

A lot has happened since I last updated. Bad things first. I was pretty sick just before Christmas. I'm still fighting some of the lasting effects of that, but it's getting better every day. These days it mostly has to do with some vision problems, not the best thing for someone who is addicted to her computer time, and wanting to sketch/paint every day. ^^ But there it is. But, rhere is also the little bonus that everyone I see now kind of thinks I'm winking at them. HA!

How about some good news now? I've recently been hired by a company called Breygent as an offical Sketch Card Artist for an upcoming Wizard of Oz collectible card set. Yay!! Along with the oh so talented Jessica Hickman I'll be doing lots of sketching in the near future. ^^ Please check out Jess' site, Dead Playground. I feel really lucky to be part of this, hopefully it is a sign of good things to come.

You can find out more about the cards here. Breygent. Go take a look!

I am also taking commissions for my personal sketch cards, and I'll be setting up a page with all the information. But for now, if you would like to commission me please send and e-mail to: darla@outofthemyst.com The cards have and original design on the back, seen here:

and the sketch of your choice on the front. Make sure to put "Sketch Card" in the subject line of your e-mail. They are $10 each. Thanks to my friend Grant Gould for helping me with my cards. ^^

Well that's all for now. One day soon I will start to update on a regular basis, of course, sure as anything, the world will end shortly there after. ~.O xoxox Dar

Nearly Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm just figuring out how exactly to update this place. It's been a good time learning the little that I know. (So very little) ^^ I've spent most of today trying to update the galleries. I even created a new one dedicated to the worlds of Bittersweet and Tangled, where the vampires live. This gallery is geared at a little more mature audience, so if you can't tie your own shoes or reach the light switch, better ask your mommy to look first. ~.O All the characters within the "Bittersweet" gallery are taken from a novel I've been working on for the past couple years, so I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The Sketch and Painting galleries are in the process of being updated, but it may take me a couple more days as my head is starting to feel like it's made of cotton. Not used to looking at a computer screen for such a long time, I guess. I did get the sketch area mostly updated so run off an take a look.

There will be other sections added as my mind wraps around coding a little more. Namely, a commission area, links to some of the amazing artists I know, and a little F.A.Q. business. Untl then, have fun with the changes, and drop me a line with any questions. XOX Dar

Well it's nearly Halloween, how the time does fly. ^^

Fallcon was a pretty big success in addition to being a good hang. Jess, Grant and Michael made it so much fun. I'm already looking forward to Microcon in the spring. I spent most of the weekend sketching for different people at the show. ONe day I may have a con section complete with pictures, but for now, you'll have to take my word that it was tons of fun. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and said hello, that's what really makes it special for me.

There's a new painting in the gallery. It's entitled "Tangled" and is yet another portrait of my vampires, Dorian and Lorelei.

Hugs and kisses, that's all for now. Smoot

All righty, tis the beginning of a new era where Darla tries to figure out how to construct her own site. ^^

The wonderful Jamie has provided me a beautiful start, so now it seems that I'll just need to get things rolling.

So be on the lookout for many updates and additions in the days to come.

love, the red-headed motorcycle girl who knows nothing about web site. xo

post script...well I've now misplaced the lovely page that Jamie created...fiddlesticks.
